Elderberry Tea for Immune Boosting:
To strengthen the body's defenses, it is recommended to add 2 teaspoons of elderberry extract to hot tea with honey. This plant is rich in proteins that prevent viruses from entering, while vitamin C helps maintain the immune system.
Herbal Tea for Cold:
At the first signs of a cold, such as chills and shivering, it is beneficial to brew herbal tea. For one cup of boiling water, take 2 teaspoons of ground ginger, 1 teaspoon of peppermint, and 1 teaspoon of elderflower. These herbs promote sweating and reduce temperature. Brew and steep for 10 minutes, then drink in small sips with honey while warm.
Cranberry Juice as a Cold Remedy:
Drinking a glass of cranberry juice daily before breakfast or before bed can be as effective as a week-long course of antibiotics. This drink prevents infections and has virtually no side effects. Both fresh and frozen berries are suitable.
Cold Treatment with Iodine:
If you add 3-5 drops of iodine to the water you drink on the first day of illness, it may stop the development of a cold. Repeat this procedure twice a day and once before bed, combining it with other physician recommendations.
Kombucha for Cold Treatment:
To fight a cold, you can use a 7-8 day infusion of kombucha. Its use helps with hypertension, rheumatic heart disease, and polyarthritis, and is also effective for inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. The infusion can be used for gargling and nasal rinsing in case of angina. Frequent mouth rinsing during follicular angina significantly eases the condition and reduces fever.
Healing Bath with Ginger and Echinacea:
To prepare an anti-cold bath, mix 3 tablespoons of echinacea tincture, 1-2 grated ginger roots, 1 finely chopped orange, and 1 teaspoon of honey. Mix all the ingredients in half a liter of warm water and add to the bath. The water temperature should be comfortable. Also, prepare a healing tea from strong black tea with added echinacea tincture, grated ginger, and honey. Drink it in the bath in small sips for no longer than 15 minutes. After the procedure, wrap up well and go to sleep.
Onion Juice for Cold Relief:
At the first signs of a cold, it is helpful to rinse your nose with warm tea or instill onion juice diluted with boiled water into your nose. Pure juice may cause mucosal irritation.
Garlic for Runny Nose:
In case of a severe runny nose, it is recommended to insert a clove of garlic into the nose overnight or prepare a garlic compress from gauze and breathe it in. If there is a copious discharge of mucus, you can rinse your nose with diluted garlic.
Aloe Liqueur for Cold Treatment:
To prepare the tincture, cut the leaves of aloe and fill a bottle, sprinkle with sugar, and cover the neck with gauze. On the fifth day, pour vodka over the aloe and leave for another three days. Strain and take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day, and for children – 1 teaspoon.
Pepper in Cold Treatment:
Soak a crust of bread in milk, add a pinch of red pepper, and spread it on the bread. Take it at the first symptoms of a cold. If you have hypertension, use black pepper instead of red.
