Birch Bud Ointment: Folk healers use birch buds to make an ointment that helps with various joint diseases, including rheumatism and gout. To prepare it, take 1 cup of birch buds, grind them into powder (or mash fresh buds into a homogeneous mass) and mix with 0.5 kg of fresh lard. Place the resulting mixture in a clay pot and simmer in the oven for 3 hours each day for 7 days. If you do not have access to an oven, you can use a low flame in a water bath. After the time is up, strain the hot fat into glass jars, discarding the remaining raw material.
This ointment is used externally for gland inflammation and eczema, as well as for any other skin diseases. In case of tuberculosis, it is recommended to take a teaspoon of the ointment, dissolved in 50 ml of warm milk (at a temperature of 45-50°C), three times a day before meals. The ointment has a positive effect on lupus erythematosus, especially if used both internally and externally on affected skin areas, as well as for nodular erythema, vasculitis, dermatoses, and dermatomyositis. It is also effective for bedsores, varicose ulcers, and ringworm.
