Using petroleum jelly and green antiseptic: Apply green antiseptic to the cracks on the nipples, and then coat them with petroleum jelly. Repeat this procedure after each feeding. Be careful with the amount of green antiseptic: treat only the damaged areas, not the entire nipple, to avoid the baby rejecting the breast.
