Effective Folk Remedies for Styes on the Eye
There are contraindications. Consult your doctor.
Saliva: At the initial stage of a stye's development, when it is just beginning to ripen, abundant application of morning "hungry" saliva (before breakfast) should be applied to the affected eyelid. The procedure is recommended to be repeated several times, and the same can be done on the second day. There is a popular belief that spitting in the eye when having a stye can help, and many confirm its effectiveness.
Castor Oil: You need to take a small piece of three-layer gauze (or bandage), soak it in castor oil, and apply it overnight on the affected eyelid. Often, a just-starting stye disappears in just two nights. If castor oil gets in your eyes, it's not dangerous, as it is completely safe.
Flammable Sulfur: To prepare the remedy, take flammable sulfur, sew a small pouch from double gauze, and carry it on yourself like a cross so that it fits tightly against the body. This simple remedy can help in treating a stye.
