Effective Folk Remedies for Nail Fungus Treatment
There are contraindications. Consult your doctor.
Sulphur Ointment: To combat nail fungus, it is recommended to use sulphur ointment with a concentration of 5-10%. This remedy is highly effective and rivals foreign analogues.
Herbal Baths: It is advisable to take baths with infusions of herbs such as onion peel, succession, St. John's wort, euphorbia, and yarrow. These herbs can be used separately or in combination, adding sea salt (100 g per 10 l of water) to enhance effectiveness.
Iodine: Iodine tincture diluted with alcohol or vodka to 2% is excellent for treating the soles of the feet. For nails, use a 5% solution.
Potassium Permanganate: Prepare a weak potassium permanganate solution to wipe the skin on your feet to avoid burns.
Yodinol: Soak a cotton pad in yodinol, attach it to the nail with adhesive tape. The cotton should extend beyond the edges of the nail. Leave it for 5 days, then replace it with a cotton pad soaked in oil and continue treatment for another 3-4 days to facilitate nail detachment.
Onion: Bulb onions can also help in the fight against fungus. Every day, apply freshly squeezed onion juice to your feet and let it dry completely.
Vinegar: Prepare a weak vinegar solution (1 tablespoon to a glass of water). Men with rough skin may use a more concentrated solution. Soak your toes, remove dead skin, and take vinegar baths every two days for one week.
Hydrogen Peroxide: Hydrogen peroxide, used for bleaching hair, is also effective for treating fungus. Apply it quickly to your feet to avoid evaporation.
If you notice the first signs of fungal infection, immerse your nails in 3% hydrogen peroxide for 1-2 minutes daily.
Tea Tree Oil: Rub tea tree oil into the affected nails — it is an effective remedy. If there are no improvements after a few days, it is highly recommended to consult a dermatologist.
Immune-Boosting Tea: It is recommended to drink tea brewed from succession, pansies, and mountain grass (10 g of each ingredient per cup of boiling water) 2 tablespoons 3-4 times a day.
Birch Tar: Use ointments or liniments containing birch tar (10-30%) for external use in fungal diseases. Birch tar can be made at home, but it's easier to purchase it at a pharmacy.
Vinegar Essence: For nail fungus treatment, soak your feet in hot water with household soap, dry them, and apply vinegar essence to the affected areas. It’s enough to do 3-4 procedures at night. Don’t forget to disinfect your shoes with formalin solution.
Burnt Zinc: Use burnt zinc to treat the affected areas of the nails three times a day until full recovery.
