Joint Pain Treatment: Effective Folk Remedies

Joint pain is a problem known to many. Most often, people experience discomfort in the knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow joints. The medical term for such sensations is arthralgia. Joint pain can be either acute or chronic, and its causes can vary from injuries and overstrain to age-related changes and infections, including arthritis—a general term for more than 100 diseases.
Folk Methods for Treating Joint Pain
Urine Therapy for Joints
One of the folk remedies recommended for treating joint pain is steamed urine. For application, you should lubricate the area with vegetable oil or goose fat to avoid burns, and then apply a compress.
Compress of Sour Milk and Eggshell
For this recipe, mix equal parts of sour milk (or buttermilk) and powdered eggshell. Apply the resulting mixture to a cloth and place it on the painful area for 1 hour, wrapping it with film and warm fabric. Repeat the procedure for 5 days, then take a five-day break and repeat the procedure.
Aloe Rubbing for Joints
Mix pure alcohol, ammonia, petroleum jelly, camphor oil, turpentine, and juice from aged aloe (at least 3 years old) in equal proportions. Let it steep for 5 days, shaking two to three times a day. Use for rubbing on painful areas, warming it before application.
Compress with Cologne and Iodine
For this remedy, you will need 1 bottle of triple cologne, 1 bottle each of iodine and valerian, and 6 crushed analgesic tablets. Mix everything and let it steep for 5 days. Rub on at night, then wrap the joint with a warm cloth.
Elecampane Tincture for Joints
Place crushed elecampane root (1 handful) into a 5-liter jar, add yeast and honey, and fill with boiled water. Let it steep for 2 weeks and then take 50 g 3-4 times a day before meals.
Bay Leaf for Joints
To prepare the broth, take 50 g of bay leaf, pour 250 g of cold water and boil. Drink 1 shot a day for 4 days, then take a break.
Eggshell for Joints
Adding a few drops of lemon juice to powdered eggshell helps the body better absorb calcium. Take 1 teaspoon a day.
Fly Agaric for Joints
Tincture of fly agaric in vodka is used for rubbing and compresses for joint pain.
Lard for Joints
Rub melted lard on painful joints at night for 7 days. After rubbing, wrap the joint in a warm cloth.
Laurel and Juniper Ointment
Mix crushed bay leaves, juniper needles, and butter in a ratio of 6:1:12. Apply to painful joints.
Salt and Mustard Ointment
Mix a cup of salt and half a cup of mustard with a small amount of kerosene, rubbing it into the joints before bedtime.
Hay Dust Baths
Prepare a broth from 0.5 kg of hay dust and add it to the bath for relieving joint pain.
Arthritis Treatment with Herbal Brews
A brew made from elderberry, nettle, parsley, and willow bark helps with arthritis. Drink 2 cups a day for several months.
St. John's Wort and Yarrow Ointment
Mix herbs with melted petroleum jelly, applying before bedtime to ease joint pain.
Lilac and Dandelion for Joint Pain
Use tincture of lilac and dandelion for compresses on painful joints.
Golden Mustache Tincture
Pour vodka over crushed joints of the golden mustache, let it steep for 2 weeks and use for rubbing.
