Effective Folk Methods for Blepharitis Treatment
There are contraindications. Consult your doctor.
Dandelion and Burdock Root Decoction and Ointment: These folk remedies are excellent for treating allergic blepharitis. To prepare the decoction, you will need 2 tablespoons of powdered dandelion roots and the same amount of powdered burdock roots. Mix them and pour 400 ml of cold boiled water, leaving the infusion overnight. In the morning, bring to a boil in a water bath for 20 minutes, then cool and strain. It is recommended to drink the decoction three times a day, 1/2 cup 15 minutes before meals. For local treatment, prepare the ointment: mix 2 tablespoons of powdered dandelion roots, 2 tablespoons of powdered burdock roots, 4 tablespoons of May honey, and 1 tablespoon of goat fat. Mix everything thoroughly and heat in a water bath for 10 minutes (do not boil). Let the ointment steep in a warm place for three days.
Salt Washes, Bay Leaf Decoction, and Massage: The initial stage of treatment includes a 28-day course of morning and evening eye washes with hypertonic salt solution (100 g of salt per 1 liter of water). The solution should be at room temperature.
In the second stage, for the next 28 days, take half a cup of decoction prepared from 12 bay leaves, brewed with 1 cup of boiling water and boiled for 3 minutes, twice a day. Cool, remove the bay leaves, add 2 teaspoons of honey and 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to the decoction. Prepare fresh decoction every day.
Throughout the treatment course, it is recommended to perform massage: with the index fingers of both hands, gently massage the area from the nostrils up along the nose to the corners of the eyes, as if squeezing plugs from the tear ducts. The massage should be repeated in the morning and evening for 5 minutes.
